Why we love australian green tea
Grown close to home
Picked and made in north-east Victoria, this leaf travels a far shorter road to your teapot than most green teas.
L-theanine and caffeine
Green tea naturally contains both L-theanine and caffeine, making a gentle, steady cup for the middle of the day.
Sweetest when brewed cooler
Water at around 80 °C keeps the cup sweet and grassy, while boiling water draws out more bitterness.
Good to know
Flags: Caffeine.
Contains caffeine.
Australia's tea story began in far north Queensland, where the Cutten brothers planted tea at Bingil Bay in the 1880s. Today the cool valleys of north-east Victoria also grow green tea, made in the Japanese manner: the fresh leaf is steamed soon after picking to keep its colour and sweetness, then rolled into fine needles.
