The benefits

Why we love rooibos

Naturally caffeine-free

Rooibos contains no caffeine at all, so it suits any hour, from a lazy breakfast to the last cup of the night.

Smooth, never bitter

Naturally low in tannins, it stays sweet and mellow even if you forget it in the pot.

Loves milk and spice

Its honeyed, woody flavour takes a splash of milk well and carries chai spices beautifully.

Good to know

  • Heart & circulation
  • Calm & de-stress

No special cautions for most people in normal tea amounts.

Rooibos grows only in the Cederberg mountains and surrounding fynbos of South Africa's Western Cape. The Khoi and San peoples gathered the wild shrub, bruised its needles and left them in heaps to darken before drying them in the sun. Settlers called it 'red bush', and by the early 1900s it was being traded across the country.
